Moving Forward – A Resident’s Story

I came into Alpha House very afraid, and with so many worries, that my head could not wrap around. The immediate supports that were available to me helped me and my children in so many positive, nurturing and calming ways. If that support was not available it would have left me and my children with no hope. Thank you Alpha House, for my ongoing support groups, and individual sessions to work through so many hard emotional times. The craft times, outings, the healing process – it was not like a shelter but a family. We were able to have a normal life and for me that was huge because life in abuse is anything but “normal”.

This year long journey was my blessing, and the positive growth I see in myself and my children only makes me stronger. My time at Alpha House was secure, warm, nurturing and generous. This is truly a place of healing, a journey forward not back.
